Powerful work from Jodie Bieber

I’m not a press photographer, but it’s a field in which I make a point of regularly seeking out quality work and letting it change me in some way.

This link is to a controversial image by Jodie Bieber, for which she’s just won the World Press Photo award.

Some people argue that images such as this are a form of voyeurism, the phrase “pornography of suffering” gets carelessly thrown about. I would suggest that if work such as Bieber’s is a form of voyeurism to you, then that says far more about you and who you are than anything about the work or the photographer.
